Clinic in Cojutepeque

The last piece for this room – a new ceiling…!

By February 1, 2022 we plan to open a free therapy/medical clinic to those impacted by disability in Cojutepeque, El Salvador. This is a poor, medium sized community located on the side of a mountain where there are few medical services and many with severe disabilities. In the past we had been assisting with a therapy/medical clinic housed in a local church, but recent changes have resulted in the loss of this clinic. After visiting Cojutepeque post-covid and seeing many of our former patients, the need to open a new clinic became overwhelming. In November 2021 we began the rehab of a house donated for the use of the clinic, which we plan to complete by January. We are currently interviewing therapists to hire for the clinic and plan to open for services by February 1, 2022. Your support will help cover the ongoing staffing and program costs of this fully accessible clinic.

Pastor Paco

Pastor Paco and his wife Rosario with Amy

A.B.L.E. has been assisting Pastor Paco with his ministry to gang members for several years. He now works in 3 gang-controlled communities to bring gang members out of the gangs. He also goes into the maximum security prisons to preach on a regular basis. All prisoners now receive a Bible, and since Pastor Paco has been working in the prisons, the population has significantly calmed. As many of the former gang members shared with us (all of whom have served prison time for their former gang activities) there is nothing to do but read in prison, and now that there are 37,000 Bibles in the prisons God is working!! He is using people like Pastor Paco (who once commanded 1000 gang members) to transform their lives through the hope and salvation found only in Jesus Christ!!
In addition, we have been trying to locate a replacement leg prosthesis for Pastor Paco. His original prosthesis is very old, broken and beyond repair. We are in need of $3000 for Pastor Paco to receive a new leg prosthesis. Please help us keep Pastor Paco literally “on his feet” so he can continue his work for God to those most marginalized!

Sponsor a Patient for Therapy

A.B.L.E. is currently setting up a Physical Therapy/Medical Clinic in Cojutepeque to open February 2022. The clinic would help provide much needed services to the many people affected by disability in that area, a poor area of El Salvador that has few medical or other services available. The majority of the patients whom we will be serving, are unable to pay for services due to the severe economic situation, which has been worsened significantly by Covid (many of these families are still receiving regular food bags through A.B.L.E. in order to feed their families). Eleven of our already identified patients are between the ages of 2 and 18 years old, three are 22 year olds and two are 55 year olds (with quadriplegia). All will receive 2-3 treatments /week. We need your help with therapy services for those most in need. We are looking for sponsors to “adopt a patient” and cover the cost of therapy services. For $106/month you can sponsor one of these patients!! Will you help us to make a difference in the quality of life of an individual in need in El Salvador and show them the love of Jesus?
