Due to the ongoing challenges of the pandemic, and concern for the health and safety of our team members, this outreach has been cancelled.
Our September 30 – October 10, 2020 outreach to El Salvador will focus on serving children and adults with disabilities and those marginalized by poverty. We will again be partnering with CARES, the ministry of Carol Lopez. We will be spending most of our time in Cojutepeque seating 200 wheelchairs. We are looking for therapists, mechanics and support personnel. In addition, we will be spending 2-3 days in San Salvador working with at-risk kids and adults who are former gang members and prostitutes.
We are looking for team members with an attitude of flexibility and service. All team members will be asked to help collect the many items needed for this outreach. Team members will purchase their own airfare, within the parameters set by the outreach, and should budget for two suitcases. One suitcase for personal items and one for items that were collected for the outreach. Projected cost for this outreach (excluding airfare and luggage) is $600. This cost will cover all in-country costs (housing, meals, transportation once in El Salvador, tips, etc.). Final cost is TBD.
Of course, the safety and health of our team members is our first concern, and although we plan to hold this outreach as scheduled, final plans may be adjusted due to limitations incurred by the Covid-19 pandemic.
